We are back! Join us for a celebration of The Spirit of our Northwest Forests!

Welcome back dear students, faculty and staff!   Our library blog is back from a relaxing vacation and hopes to bring you lots of exciting news this coming year!   So here is the first one for our new academic year!

A new, impressive exhibit, The Spirit of our Northwest Forests, will open at the COCC Library Rotunda Gallery on September 17 and run until October 25. It will display the selected work of over 40 talented artists, many of them local but also others from Eugene, Springfield, and Seattle. The exhibit will include art in stone, oil, watercolor, pastels, wood, bronze and more. The show was juried by local painter, Ken Roth, whose paintings reflect his interest in nature, light and color. Ken studied under master Sebastian Capella and his work is represented in galleries throughout the west. Ken chose the poster piece for the show “Evening Aura,” oil on panel, by Lisa Copenhagen Wachs.  It was inspired by old growth ponderosa and juniper on her property in Tumalo.

COCC students, staff, and community are invited to join the artists in an Opening Reception on Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the COCC Library Rotunda Gallery. Free.
