…not your ordinary avid reader!


The mudflap girl has become the centerpiece in the Wyoming Libraries Campaign!  The picture of the reading beauty advertises Wyoming’s new statewide ChiltonLibrary.com auto repair manual database and the plan is to put it into autopart stores all around the state to let male non-library users know about the new database.

What a brilliant idea, a great example of a marketing strategy targeting a specific demographic for a specific service!  Business majors, take note!  Although edited to make it more politically correct and anatomically a bit more conservative, the ad has already attracted lots of attention as well as lots of flack from people nationwide who consider it sexist and offensive. 

One thing is for sure…. people are now talking about the previously little known Wyoming’s libraries!  And if you like their campaining ad, you can now buy your own mudflap girl bumper sticker, t-shirt, or mug by visiting the Wyoming Libraries online store at: http://www.cafepress.com/wyominglibrary/
